The Fydells of Boston
AA GarnerAn account of a family pre-eminent in Boston for over 200 years from the mid 17th century. They once made the town virtually their own, being merchants, Mayors and Members of Parliament. These remarkable people whose climb to a local hey-day of power and influence was as rapid as their ultimate fall into oblivion. The home carrying their name was rescued from destruction in the 1930s by Boston Preservation Trust and is generally agreed to have been built in 1726. It still stands today.
