The central character ‘Little Will’ was born in 1875 and lived his early life in Burton Road. His father was a successful and well known (if not well liked) cabinet maker and undertaker. Will’s great friend Edgar ‘Clink’ (Ponsonby) Carrot, lived in Gordon Road, and this volume is of ‘Little Will’ from about 12 years of age until he breaks away from his father and sets up in business on his own account. The second book is available 'For Better For Worse' and the third is also now available 'Old Men's Dreams, Young Men's Visions'.
