If you are interested in the news of the rebuilding of Monte Cassino - you might be interested to read one of the best accounts from the time it was destroyed, from a private soldier who was there - Charlie Framp describes his experiences of the Second World War in his book Crimson Skies.
In the foreward to this book, Lord (Len) Murray writes "... this impressive book . . . I have never read a more gripping account of the war as experienced by a private soldier. We are all in debt to this English infantryman . . . for what he did and his account of it."
