Jean Sanderson's memoirs of life 1929-1949 at Rivulet House Farm and Croft village near Skegness. When mod cons were virtually non existent and people lived in harmony through hard times but were rich in skills, self respect, pride and determination.
For the most part, their lives were governed by the seasons and could not be hastened.
"It was a privilege to experience the good times and accept those not so good as I grew up and worked alongside Croft folk when often I had 'squadd on mi boots and muck on mi 'ands'". I have gained much knowledge sharing in their working experiences and leisure activities, sharing their lunches when they sliced a piece off their bread and cheese using a pocket knife which previously may have been used to scrape muck off their boots.
After escapades on the farm, Jean went to Teacher Training College in Sheffield, married a Yorkshire man, Ted Gough, had two daughters and taught in an infant school for 38 years.
