An overview of the county’s transport heritage.
Lincolnshire has always played an important role in Britain’s transport infrastructure from the development of prehistoric tracks, Roman Ermine Street, the Georgian Great North Road and the Victorian East Coast Mainline. This book deals with the principal means of transport, that is to say, roads, waterways and railways but there is also a chapter devoted to Lincolnshire-made cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
