Through her activities, she raised over £227,000 (as at 20.05.87) for Pilgrim Hospital for DOCATEF (Detection of Cancer and Treatment Equipment Fund) and was justly rewarded by such honours as the British Empire Medal, June 1987 and being the only woman to be made a Freeman of the Borough of Boston.
