Edward King: Bishop of Lincoln 1885-1910

Owen Chadwick Lincoln Minster Press

Edward King was perhaps the most revered and beloved of bishops of Lincoln since St Hugh.  In the reredos of the Church of St Peter-at-Gowts, in the High Street, a figure of St Hugh with his swan is given the face of Edward King.

This booklet follows his birth, education, cuddesdon and oxford professorship.  The Lincoln Trial and him as Bishop of Lincoln Cathedral.
