Written by a Doningtonian whose family, in the village, can be traced back to 1777.  On retirement Ian Evans decided to do some research and put together what he had learned of the people, buildings (past and present) and history of the village. Included in this book are details of Donington church built around 1200 and the story of a terrible murder committed in 1897 when a drunken Mr Bowser fatally shot his wife. Well known local people such as Captain Williams and Thomas Cowley are also mentioned.
