David Coe. Postie of 57 years
In June 2015, David Coe finally hung up his postbag forthe last time after 57 years of service, making him one of Britain's longestserving postmen.He began working for the General Post Office (GPO) as atelegram boy just a few weeks after his fifteenth birthday using a BSA Bantammotorbike.
Working a three week rotating shift. One week on the Skillington Buckminsterround, one on the Fulbeck and Caythorpe and then one doing nights at GranthamStation. He remembers that one suchnight was when the Great Train Robbery took place!
